​Suleiman Sharifi was born in 1958 in Dushanbe, Republic of Tajikistan. Since 1999, he’s been a member of the International Confederation of Artists. The artist works in the field of contemporary art, in directions such as painting, video, photography, installation and book illustration. Since 1996, S. Sharifi has participated in a number of exhibitions and projects, such as: “READ WITH ME”, “TAWA”, Chemonics USAID, as an illustrator, designer and artist/ consultant 2017 - 2020; Exhibition of Contemporary Art “TOPOGRAFICA”, AUCA 2015; “Rethinking the New Man/Practice of Civic Responsibility through Social and Visual Media” Dushanbe, 2014; “Make Your Idea Visible” Solo Contemporary Art Exhibition American Corner, National Library Dushanbe 2013; Video Instants 2011 in Marseille, Video Instants 2012 in Beirut; International Symposium of Contemporary Art “Nomadic Art Camp”. Kyrgyzstan 2011; “Public Art in Dushanbe” CEC Artslink 2009; Exhibition of contemporary art “Original copy” Mayakovsky Theater, 2008; Project “Non-museum interpretation of the pre-Islamic heritage of Tajikistan” National Museum, 2008; Annual exhibition “Navruz” National Museum, Dushanbe 1996 - 2004.

The artist was awarded the prize for the best video art at the “Nomadic Video Festival 2011” in Bishkek. His works are in museums and private collections in the USA, EU, Russia and Asia. A series of 6 paintings “Scenography” (oil on canvas) is in the AUCA collection, Installation “Made In” in the National Museum of Kazakhstan, video “Signs» and photo art “Changes” in the National Museum of Tajikistan.
